$4.3 Million for Windsor Community Children's Centre
Election Commitment

Saving Windsor Community Children's Centre
A re-elected Albanese Labor Government will commit $4.3 million to ensure the future of Windsor Community Children’s Centre (WCCC).
This election commitment will go towards ensuring that the centre on Union Street in Windsor can continue to provide exceptional early education to the local community.
It would be delivered in partnership with the City of Stonnington.
The centre is non-for-profit and currently serves 80 local families with many more on its waitlist.
WCCC is a unique and well-loved provider of affordable childcare and early education which has managed to achieve an “exceeding” National Quality Standards rating, making it a standout provider in the region.
The WCCC is uniquely placed to provide significant green space for children in an area where most families live in apartments.
This funding follows on from the Albanese Labor Government’s record commitment to the sector, investing $5 billion towards building a universal early childhood education and care system. This includes:
- $3.6 billion to lift the wages of early educators through the Worker Retention Payment, benefitting up to 200,000 early childhood educators and teachers.
- $1.0 billion to establish the Building Early Education Fund to increase the supply of high-quality early childhood education and care places across Australia, especially in priority and under-served markets.
- $426.6 million for the new 3 Day Guarantee, which replaces the Child Care Subsidy Activity Test to ensure families are eligible for at least 3 days a week of subsidies for early childhood education and care.
Consistent with past practice, election commitments will be delivered in line with Commonwealth Grants Rules and Principles.

“It has taken a village to get us here today, countless meetings, endless engagement and constant advocacy from the local community.
“I am so proud that we are in a position to deliver this critical funding to support and maintain early education and childcare services in Windsor.”
